INTER TO RESTART WITH 4
The return of Forlan, Poli, Sneijder and Maicon for a desperate comeback.
On Saturday against Fiorentina, these returns to get a call-up from Ranieri.
The "big" to ignite their game, the 22 year-old to return running.
Appiano Gentile - Four cards down on the table for a great comeback. Four aces must be confirmed in order to raise Inter on its knees. Diego Forlan, Sisenando Maicon, Andrea Poli and Wesley Sneijder, in alphabetical order, are the men that can raise Claudio Ranieri's Inter. Fresh and fundamental players to close the year with 12 points against Fiorentina, Genoa, Cesena and Lecce. It would not only be decisive for the standings but also for the winter transfer market.
More weapons Even when Inter were running and hungry, Maicon and Sneijder, in the last two years, have been the main sources of their game. The advances as well as crosses from the Brazilian have opened a lot of matches (just ask the orphan Pazzini) while Sneijder's vertical movements are much needed in a team that imagination is not abundant. There is also Forlan who is very familiar to the trequartista role as he has had experience with the national team. The Uruguayan is the most flexible striker that Ranieri has.
Two closer Yesterday was the recovery day after the defeat against Udinese on Saturday with Lucio and Jonathan continued working by themselves while Maicon and Forlan were training with group. The Brazilian has been out for a few weeks now after suffering a second degree hamstring on October 29 against Juventus. If he continues giving positive signs then the Brazilian could already return on Saturday against Fiorentina. For Forlan, his return date is also on track. He suffered the same type of injury on October 11 but did train very well last week. Between him and his return on field, there is the inevitable caution that the team wants to take in order to avoid even more serious injury such as a third degree strain. So everything will depend on how he feels in the next couple of days and many consultations will be made between the medical and technical staff. If it is not on Saturday against the Viola, the former Atletico player should be back next Tuesday against Genoa.
Wes on leave Wesley Sneijder could also return on the same day. Yesterday the Dutchman was on leave but he has put behind the strain in his right leg and could return to the group today. Prerequisite to persuade Ranieri to focus on him for the last three games of 2011. Same precautions will be applied here for the Dutchman as you can recall that he got hurt again during the warm up before the Cagliari game on November 19. Lastly we have Andrea Poli. He arrived in Milan with a strain and has had a couple of setbacks on his return. He was once brilliant in the shirt of Sampdoria and the U-21 national team so we expect the jump in quality after many difficult months. If he is good enough then he could the the man for the Inter midfield as soon as Saturday due to Zanetti's suspension.
