Fredy Guarin: "Happy To Be Here"

Posted by SacT0wn on February 2, 2012 at 12:40 PM

"I am happy, really happy to be here at Inter: a big family.  It is a pride for me and Inter are an institution," smiles Fredy Guarin with all joy as seen on his face. The new signing of Inter speaks mostly in Spanish but manages himself with a few words in Portuguese and Italian while the questions for him were asked in Italian.  This is the language that he is going to study and best at: "I understand Italian a little bit but it is difficult to speak, but now I will study it just like I did in past countries where I lived."

Then he returns to talk about Inter: "For now, I only wear the shirt of Inter only for official photos and it was already a great emotion, I'm really happy.  Whoever have arrived here at Inter must know that they have to have the mentality of a champion, it could not be otherwise.  This is due to all the trophies that this club has won.  When you arrive here, you will immediately realize that the mentality you have cannot be different from that of the champions who are already here and who have won everything.  Guarin also has a few words on his countryman Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, who is now his teammate: "He is an example for me, for every Colombian player.  I'm glad that I have found him here.  Everybody knows the type of person that he is and the value that he has.  Everybody knows what he has done for Inter."

Fredy Guarin also speaks about what he can do on the field, his characteristics: "Among my characteristics is being a player with great strength, a warrior on the field, one who fights until the end.  My greatest quality is the instinct to never give up and always fight.  Then I try to play with the techniques that the team needs.  I use my right foot mostly  but I have no problems the left.  So now, my qualities will be available at their best to the team.  I repeat, this is a great honor to be an Inter player."
