Italian Cup: Fiorentina 0-1 Inter

vs.

And... we are through to the final of the Italian Cup.  I'm happy and pleased but not that excited.

Don't understand the subs by Mou after the goal of Eto'o.  There is no need to play Milito and Cambiasso and at the same time, Balotelli needs some playing time to and what did he do?  He subbed Milito for Balotelli and Cambiasso for Eto'o.  Don't understand it at all.  But Mou chose to play smartly.  Playing 5-3-2 on defense and 3-5-2 on offense and after the goal it was all 5-4-1.  Super defensively approach but it was understandable.

Anyway, I want Roma in the final.  I refuse to believe that they are better than us and I want to revenge.  By the way what is up with the final being in Rome for another year in the running...

About Mou's subs (Milito, Cambiasso) , I believe this has something to do with sustaining a player's momentum over a stretch of games. When a player has been through a very intensive period of many games, resting him suddenly (for 1 week) will only cause him to go "cold" and his performance at the next games (Juventus, Barcelona) will be like a long warm-up and not at the peak. Marathon runners know that they must pace themselves and keep running at a certain rhythm; if they slow down halfway to walk, they will break their rhythm and they will not be able to sustain performance levels at a constant peak. Mou studied sports science and physical education before he became coach, so, I think, he applies a lot of that in his coaching model to his teams.
