Posted by anonymous on May 2, 2010 at 10:59 PM

An unexpected scene occurred an hour before the Lazio-Inter game at the Olimpico.  Mario Balotelli, an Inter striker, as reported by Sky Sport 24 took the field and headed toward the Curva Nord of Inter, or the area where the Inter fans were.  At that point, the boy apologized by beating on his chest several times and with his head down.  The response of the Inter fans is a mixture of cheers and boos, but the majority of the fans showed appreciation.  This suggests that the number 45 of Inter as an Inter player and not seeing his future away from Inter, unlike his agent, Mino Raiola suggested.

I agree Inter Inter but let's face it, if he's learned a lesson then hopefully he'll do the things you are asking of him. I know I did some things when I was 19 years old that I wouldn't do today. I would love for the kid to stay at Inter and show the commitment you are referring to. However, he has a lot ot make up for already.

No Marc, apologising to fans is just PR, and a small but insignificant gesture. More importantly, he's got to demonstrate respect for the coach and the team. He will need to train with 200% commitment to win Mou's confidence. When he gets the chance to go on the pitch, he will need to perform 100%, track back when necessary, and totally avoid negative attitude and stunts that he is famous for. If he can do that, all his problems will disappear. It's very simple. really.

@Inter Inter : very well said.. couldn't agree more.. The gesture seems nice.. that was a very 1st step for Balo to regain Interisti & the club hearts.. But the most important is to prove him self on and off the pitch !

Very interesting SacTown.

I think this is the stuff Mourinho is looking for to make Mario a part of the squad again. I wouldn't be surprised to hear Jose praising Mario in an interview before the next match about the gesture. Let's hope he meant it.
