Serie A: Cesena 1-2 Inter Ratings

Posted by anonymous on May 1, 2011 at 1:51 AM

Castellazzi: 6

Came out rightly on Giaccherini and protected the post on Jimenez.

Maicon: 6.5

Good day yesterday.  Pazzini needs to thank him for the cross but not only that, he also was convinced on defense.

Lucio: 6

He was the best on the field until Pazzini, but with one small regret: the cross of Ceccarelli passed him for the goal.

Ranocchia: 5

Budan snorted like a bull and Malonga kicked like a colt: the goal aside, it was an afternoon of grief and self-criticism.

Nagatomo: 5.5

It was an evening of emotion.  He was looking and searching more than Maicon but he never could break the ice.

Zanetti: 6

Not a performance of a captain who takes on the team and puts it on his shoulders.  One speed the entire game.

Thiago Motta: 6

He returned after three games and while he played at his pace, he did not look or expand for more movement.

Mariga: 6

He had the gas and it showed, sometimes even too much: picked up another yellow in two games immediately right when he came on the field.

Cambiasso: 6

Game number 300 for Inter.  Energetic and geometry.

Pandev: 5

Played as winger and never won anything instead he almost always lost the ball.

Milito: 5

When condition destroys the will.  This time it seems like as if he has lost the moment forever.  And maybe a little bit depressed.

Eto'o: 6

Spent an hour of slipping the ball and shaking his head, but then restarted to pound on the left and provided the first assist for Pazzini.

Pazzini: 8

Just give me more crosses he asked, and it was done.  At first he was close with two header that went off then did the bad to Cesena.  An animal in the area like he demonstrated today.

Leonardo: 6.5

When there were no legs or ideas, he made the changes and there was joy.

I hope Inter go after Krancjar if his price isn't too high. He's sure to leave London and he'd fit in well. I have a feeling Wesley will leave so the squad will need creativity.

Banx, agree on your take of the Ranocchia situation. I'm desperate to see how he can perform with Samuel.

SacTown gets it right.

Cautionary tale on rating defenders. At Man Utd Vidic and Evra signed in the January window and looked like they'd never make it at United. However given coaching and time They've gone on to prove fantastic. Lets give Andrea a chance.

I think ranocchia is a good player and has great potential. The only weakness he has is that he sometimes shows lack of experience.
Another thing is that he is the same type of player like lucio (ignores marking and goes to intercept the ball at all times). When we had Lucio and Samuel we had Lucio to intercept and Samuel to mark players. Lucio and ranocchia together provided a bit less balance in the defence. However still far better than Materazzi and cordoba.

Now NErd has his own fan section? NErd Ultras.

I'll say again, SacTown is not overly negative. He is a realist. This season has been a disappointment as far as I'm concerned. Moratti and Branca chose to sit on their thumbs and do nothing after Inter's greatest season ever. But even at the end of last season, there were signs of an ageing squad. Mourinho's defensive mind set covered up a lot of deficiencies and if you recall Julio Cesar's form made a huge difference. He saved Inter's asses more than once. Ranocchia is still young and can become a solid player. He definitely needs to improve though. His performance this season has been very average compared to what I would expect from an Inter defender.

I'd like to see how Ranocchia performs with Samuel before we read him his last rites. The guy was excellent at Bari and in the first half of this season at Genoa. Maybe he'll step up when partnered with The Wall?

as long as samuel is not there, ranocchia should stay... he is maybe not the best at positional play, but he wins like about 90% of his duels... do you remember the one, where bayern had a counter attack three on one? thats what i mean... that is the reason why he should play. and i want to see coutinho obi and mariga next week playing, there are two advantages: the others can recover, and those three can show what they can...

God, do I have to spell it out for all of you? I predicted a loss because I'm a superstitious person especially Inter related and not because I'm negative. Have y'all ever hear about anti-jinxing? Jeezz...

In the previous post, you didn't say Samuel as a better option than Ranochia but you say and I quote: "even worse than Matrix and Cafe Colombia."

Come on and take a breather. You are far more negative then me. Predicting every game to end in a defeat. =)
Im no idiot, Ranocchia sure has great potential but he is a risk playing as a starter in Inter right now, just like Sebastian Frey
was when he played a whole season for us.

Im not hiding anywhere, Im just saying that we need a better defender then him to start with Lucio, and that is Samuel.

Poster like you make me sick. Why were you hiding when Ranocchia had a good game? Had one bad game and here you are commenting on the story.

Im glad it has been proven I was not wrong to criticise Ranocchia after his staring month. He is still far from starting material for Inter and right now even worse than Matrix and Cafe Colombia. Tell me I'm wrong again?

You're wrong again. Just because Ranocchia had a bad day doensn't mean he is worse than Cordoba and Materazzi.

Here are the three's ratings in the past 5 games:

Ranocchia: 6, 6, 5.5, 6, 5
Cordoba: 6, 5.5, 6.5, 4, 5
Materazzi: 5, 4, 5.5, 6 (only 4 games in the league)

And not only that, why would you want Cordoba and Materazzi playing? Both of them are OLD, and should stay on the bench cheering for the team. While for Ranocchia, he is young, better, and has potential.

If you want Cordoba and Materazzi playing instead of Ranocchia I guess you also want to see Kharja instead of Coutinho.

And no nothing has proven that you were right about Ranocchia.

Youre absolutely wrong, he had one bad game and its really just more of an understanding with lucio than anything. Hes extremely talented and miles ahead of cordoba and materazzi...remember the 1st derby and the parma game? You make no sense.

It sucks that people who read (and write) on this site have resulted to negativity no matter what the team shows on the field.
